Storage Conditions And Precautions For Custom Die Castings

Stainless Parts SUS316

With the development of industrial manufacturing, Custom die casting, as important components, have received increasing attention and application. However, if storage and maintenance are not properly managed during the Custom die castingproduction process, product quality can easily decline, thus affecting production efficiency. So, how should Custom die casting be stored?

1. Storage Temperature and Humidity

The storage temperature for Custom die casting should be between 5℃ and 35℃, and the humidity should be between 40% and 60%. If the temperature is too high, the surface of the Custom die castingis prone to oxidation and rust, affecting product quality; if the temperature is too low, it can easily lead to deformation and hardening. If the humidity is too high, the Custom die castingis prone to moisture absorption and rust, leading to surface scratches and passivation; if the humidity is too low, the surface of the Custom die castingwill powder and crack, affecting its service life.

2. Rust Prevention Measures

During storage, Custom die casting need to be treated with rust prevention to ensure the smoothness of the product surface and its service life. Common methods include spraying oil, applying oil, and packaging. Among these, spraying offers good rust prevention but causes significant environmental pollution; applying oil can easily create a fog-like substance on the coating, resulting in an uneven surface; and packaging requires the selection of appropriate protective materials and sealing performance.

3. Avoid Moisture

Die-cast parts are prone to rusting during storage, affecting product quality. Therefore, a dry, well-ventilated storage location is necessary. Before storage, the product surface must be cleaned and wiped, with attention paid to moisture and dust prevention. If it accidentally gets damp, it needs to be cleaned and dried promptly.

4. Avoid Heat and Compression

Die-cast parts should also be protected from heat and compression during storage. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures may cause deformation and discoloration; compression can damage the product's shape and internal structure, affecting performance. Therefore, a flat storage location should be chosen, avoiding compression and impact as much as possible.
